Portrax Co LLC is one of the leading producers of vegetable oils and fats in Portugal with a history that goes back to 1962. It manufactures all kinds of refined vegetable oils and deep-frying fats (hydrogenated, non-hydrogenated) with a capacity of up to 2 000 tonnes/year, using a mix of first-pressing sunflower seed, soybean, and cottonseed oils. The company has two industrial sites (Cais de Ramais - Alcobaça and Mouriscas - Santarém) with modern processing plants which are equipped with high technology facilities that enable Portrax to produce different types of edible oils (cooking, sunflower oil), including those made with genetically modified seeds.
